Recombinant Human Platelet Derived Growth Factor (rHu PDGF) is a mitogenic peptide growth hormone carried in the alpha-granules of platelets.

PDGF is released when platelets adhere to traumatized tissues. Connective tissue cells near the traumatized region respond by initiating the process of replication. rHu PDGF-BB expressed in E. coli is a homodimeric, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain that contains two 109 amino acid chains and has a molecular mass of 24.3 kDa. |
